Abstract

This article analyzes the convergence between international law and constitutionalism with regard to the protection of fundamental rights. It seeks to demonstrate how the principle of human dignity serves as a catalyst of a normative and jurisprudential construction that places the human being in the center of its protection spectrum. The methodology used is hypothetical-deductive, since it starts from the premise of a convergent value between the Constitutions and international law. It concludes that both the development of international law and constitutionalism have given rise to an autonomous protective body whose main objective has been to protect human rights in order to enable the identification of universal values to be protected, the principal of which is human dignity.
